HACKNEY WICK
Hackney Wick is home to all things artsy, musical and colourful. There’s an abundance of street art and converted warehouses, attracting creatives from all over the World. Hackney Wick has undergone huge development over the last two decades, largely thanks to to the Olympics.

Fish Island – formerly a sprawl of industrial units and distribution warehouses – is now a hip, canal side community of artists and young professionals. Hackney Wick was also once known for being home to more artist’s studios than anywhere else in Europe. Located in between Victoria Park and Hackney Marsh, there’s plenty of green space to enjoy, while the crowning glory – Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park – is packed full of activities and wide open park lands for visitors to enjoy.

Historically, this industrial hub was home to printers, publishers and manufacturers and the canal was a busy waterway for businesses transporting goods. Now it’s the land of digital marketers, graphic designers and creative folks. The London 2012 Olympics turned this area into a tourist destination, helped to regenerate industrial buildings and encouraged the development of new homes.

In addition, the area offers plethora of eateries and pubs, including Number 90, a local favourite that is filled with home-style food and local beer. Each summer the neighbourhood hosts the Hackney WickED festival which features live music, performances, pop-up shops and food.
